Originally from Saskatchewan, Darla now calls Hamilton, Ontario home.
Darla has worked as a performer, adjudicator and facilitator for over 20 years all across Canada. On stage or on screen, Darla is a dynamic and engaging performer with a bold presence and solid comic timing.
Darla studied acting at Univesity of Regina where she played Titania and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Darla also appeared in The Tempest at Globe Theatre in Regina. Other favourite theatre roles include Miss Rose in Girl in the Goldfish Bowl, Auntie Em in The Wizard of Oz and Madame de la Grande Bouche in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Other stage credits include Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad, A Doll’s House, the world premiere of The Alice Nocturne by Joey Tremblay and a one woman tour-de-force peformance in Marg Szkaluba, Pissy’s Wife.
Darla was selected to be a member of the film acting ensemble of the Women in the Directors Chair in Banff, AB (2012). Some of her Film and TV credits include Vampire Dog, the Stephen King thriller, Dolan’s Cadillac, Little Mosque on the Prairie as well as appearing in all six seasons of the CTV hit, Corner Gas.
